What to keep in the screenshot
- Leave the symbol in the top-left. That's the label the ticker is read from.
- Leave the timeframe button visible — 15m, 1H, 4H, 1D. Without it, it has to guess.
- Keep the price axis on the right in the shot. It's the check that the chart you screenshotted and the feed being priced are the same instrument.
- One chart per picture. A four-pane layout gets refused, because there's no way to tell which pane you meant.
- Indicators are fine. Chad reads price structure and ignores the rest, so an RSI pane underneath costs you nothing.
Questions
Does it work with a TradingView screenshot from my phone?
Yes, and a phone screenshot is the most common thing people upload. Keep the symbol and the timeframe visible and it reads the same as a desktop capture. Crop the rest if you like.
Do I need a TradingView account, or to connect one?
No. Nothing connects to TradingView. You take a picture of your own screen and upload it, the same as you'd send it to a friend. There's no login, no API key and no browser extension involved.
Which TradingView timeframes can it read?
Five: 5-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, daily and weekly. If your chart is on something in between, like 15m, it reads on the nearest one it prices and tells you which one it used.
What if it reads the wrong ticker off my screenshot?
There's an Edit control on the read. Type the right symbol and it re-reads on the correct instrument, and the correction costs you nothing extra.
